Surefire Attraction Secrets Review

Pickup101 eBook

Pick-Up 101 seems to be the one company absolutely no one has a complaint about in this industry.  Everyone likes Lance Mason; a positive big-brother type coach that teaches guys to flirt competently, with class.  I also notice that none of the stuff he teaches would be found objectionable by any woman, feminist or not, despite covering areas that other pick-up coaches take a lot of flack for.

In lieu of an ebook (for now anyway), Pick-Up 101 has a short cd-set as an introductory purchase.  There are four cd’s in the set, covering: Foolproof Opening, Storytelling, Playful Banter, and Direct vs. Indirect Game.  These are all very important topics, and each CD goes into specifics for each subject.  However, this is not a comprehensive “how to” guide, by any means.  If you’re not regularly cold approaching at this point, a lot of this stuff could go over your head.

For one thing, the cd on Opening doesn’t really give you any “canned” openers.  It tells you what’s important to think about when you open, and what makes the difference when you first approach.  Lance subscribes to the theory that what you say really isn’t that important when opening, as long as you’re congruent with what you’re saying.  While I agree with him, for someone who's relatively new to the game, someone could listen to this CD and really not know where to begin. That being said, Pick-Up 101 has other products that I've heard cover this ground more comprehensively.

Lance makes a compelling point that it is important to consider how much physical space vs. psychological space you're giving your object of affection.  I’ve seen this demonstrated on their body language DVD and it’s impressive how they explain it almost as well using just audio.  Lance also makes a very valid point that your opening success rate is often based on how you’ve prepared yourself coming to the club and how you look while you’re in the club.

The Storytelling CD is a definitely more comprehensive “how to” volume.  It goes into all the components needed for a story, and gives several examples good stories.  The best stories, you find, aren’t necessarily the funniest or the craziest.  It’s mostly about the delivery.  Lance gives a good tip on how to get laughs from the last line of the story even if it isn’t that funny.

Playful Banter is where it really kicks in.  Lance has said up front that while he considers storytelling a valuable skill, it’s not really even necessary if you can banter well.  There are some really striking explanations of banter here that show much sophistication and in-depth analysis.  There is a sharp contrast between the cocky/funny “I’m going to bust on her” humor vs. the playful banter that actually makes her feel better about herself. Lance and his crew give specifics on how to get big laughs saying things that on the surface would be offensive, yet with his delivery show a real sincerity and compassion for the woman he’s talking to.  Strongest CD in the set.

“Direct vs. Indirect Game” sounded overly theoretical at a first listen, but after giving it another round in my car stereo, I found some real value in what they were talking about.  Lance shows that the distinctions between Direct and Indirect game aren’t really where we think they are.  He tells of how to create that sincere intensity of walking up to a woman and sweeping her off her feet, and what to do if the tension between you breaks.  He also goes into the skills necessary to pull off both styles and how they intercept in practice.  Having heard this I'd be really curious to see him go into more detail on his direct approaches.

Overall this is a good set.  Not the first thing I’d give a beginner, but definitely a supplement for experienced gamers that want to get a taste of the PU101 style of doing things, especially when considering they have the most cutting edge banter technique.  Recommended.
